Why I built Fomr
Hi, I'm Bohdan. I've spent over a decade building for the web, most recently as the founding engineer at a YC-backed startup. We were always collecting something from customers. Onboarding details one week, a feedback survey the next. Every time, the form was supposed to be the quick part of the job. It almost never was.
I tried a lot of form builders looking for one that fit. Some were old enough that filling one in felt like paperwork. Others could do anything you wanted, once you'd spent a week learning how. The newer ones looked good right up until I needed something they hadn't planned for. We picked one and moved on. I just never stopped thinking that the tool I actually wanted didn't exist.
So I started Fomr, and the goal has stayed small. Make the form look how you want it to look, and let you finish it the same afternoon you started. You edit the real thing instead of a settings panel with a preview beside it, so what you see is what the person filling it in gets. Most of my work goes into keeping it that boring.
Fomr is small and independent, so if something's broken or missing or just irritating to use, I'd rather hear it from you than not. Mostly though, I hope it quietly does its job, and that the next form you have to build turns out to be the easy part of the week.
