Email notifications let you know when someone submits a response to your form. You can receive alerts at your account email or send them to a different address.
Accessing notification settings
Section titled “Accessing notification settings”To configure notifications for your form:

Open your form in the editor

Click the Settings tab in the right sidebar

Find the Notifications section

Configure your notification preferences
Admin email notifications
Section titled “Admin email notifications”Admin notifications alert you (or your team) whenever a new response is submitted to your form.
Enabling notifications
Section titled “Enabling notifications”To turn on email notifications:

Go to Settings → Notifications

Toggle Email notifications to on

Optionally, specify a custom recipient email
Default recipient
Section titled “Default recipient”By default, notifications are sent to the email address associated with your Fomr account. This is the email you used when signing up.
Custom recipient
Section titled “Custom recipient”You can specify a different email address to receive notifications. This is useful when:
- You want notifications sent to a team inbox
- A colleague should receive the alerts
- You use different emails for different purposes
To set a custom recipient:

Enable email notifications

Enter the desired email address in the Send to field

The change saves automatically
What’s included in notifications
Section titled “What’s included in notifications”When someone submits your form, the notification email includes:
- Form name - Which form received the response
- Submission timestamp - When the response was submitted
- Response summary - Key answers from the submission
- Link to view - Direct link to see the full response in your Fomr dashboard
Email delivery
Section titled “Email delivery”Delivery timing
Section titled “Delivery timing”Notification emails are sent immediately when a response is submitted. In most cases, you’ll receive the email within seconds of the submission.
Sender information
Section titled “Sender information”Notification emails are sent from Fomr’s notification system. The sender will appear as:
- From: Fomr Notifications
- Email: [email protected]
Ensuring delivery
Section titled “Ensuring delivery”To make sure you receive all notification emails:
Add to contacts. Add [email protected] to your email contacts or address book.
Check spam folder. If you’re not receiving notifications, check your spam or junk folder. Mark any Fomr emails as “not spam” to improve future delivery.
Whitelist the domain. If you use email filtering, add fomr.io to your allowed senders list.
Verify your email. Ensure the recipient email address is correct and can receive external emails.
Managing multiple forms
Section titled “Managing multiple forms”Each form has its own notification settings. This allows you to:
- Enable notifications for important forms only
- Send different forms’ notifications to different recipients
- Reduce email volume by disabling notifications for high-traffic forms
Notification best practices
Section titled “Notification best practices”Set up notifications early. Configure notifications when you create your form, before publishing it.
Use team inboxes. For business forms, send notifications to a shared inbox so the right person can respond quickly.
Test your setup. Submit a test response to verify notifications are working and arriving at the correct address.
Monitor spam folders. Periodically check spam folders, especially when first setting up notifications.
Consider response volume. For high-volume forms, individual notifications might become overwhelming. Plan accordingly.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Not receiving notifications
Section titled “Not receiving notifications”- Check notification settings - Verify notifications are enabled for the form
- Verify recipient email - Ensure the email address is correct
- Check spam/junk folder - Notifications might be filtered
- Test with a submission - Submit a test response to trigger a notification
- Check email filters - Review any rules that might be blocking Fomr emails
Notifications going to spam
Section titled “Notifications going to spam”- Add
[email protected]to your contacts - Mark Fomr emails as “not spam”
- Create a filter to always deliver emails from
fomr.io - Contact your IT team if using corporate email with strict filtering
Delayed notifications
Section titled “Delayed notifications”While notifications are typically instant, delays can occur due to:
- Email server processing times
- Recipient server delays
- High email volume periods
If delays persist, check your email provider’s status or contact support.
Wrong recipient receiving notifications
Section titled “Wrong recipient receiving notifications”- Go to your form’s notification settings
- Check the Send to field
- Update with the correct email address
- Test with a new submission
