Asset management

The asset management system lets you upload, organize, and reuse images across your forms. Logos, backgrounds, Open Graph images, and other media are stored in one location for easy access.

You can access your assets in two ways:

  1. Go to your Fomr dashboard

  2. Click Assets in the navigation menu

  3. Browse, upload, or manage your assets

When you’re adding an image to your form (logo, background, etc.), you can:

  1. Click the upload area or image selector

  2. Choose from your existing assets or upload new ones

  3. Select the asset to use

Fomr supports common image formats:

  • JPG/JPEG - Best for photographs
  • PNG - Best for graphics with transparency
  • WebP - Modern format with excellent compression
  • GIF - Supports animation
  • SVG - Vector graphics (for logos and icons)
  • ICO - Icon format (for favicons)

Upload files directly from your computer:

  1. Click the Upload button or drag-and-drop area

  2. Select one or more files from your computer

  3. Wait for the upload to complete

  4. Your assets are now available to use

Import images from a URL:

  1. Click Import from URL

  2. Enter the direct URL to the image

  3. Click Import

  4. The image is downloaded and added to your library

Search and use free images from Unsplash:

  1. Click Unsplash or the Unsplash icon

  2. Search for images by keyword

  3. Browse results and click to select

  4. The image is added to your library

Fomr integrates with Unsplash to give you access to millions of free, high-quality photos.

  1. Open the Unsplash browser (from asset library or image selector)

  2. Enter keywords describing what you’re looking for

  3. Browse the results

  4. Click an image to add it to your assets

All Unsplash images are free to use under the Unsplash License:

  • Free for commercial and personal use
  • No attribution required (but appreciated)
  • Cannot be sold without modification
  • Cannot be used to create a competing service

Fomr categorizes assets by their intended use:

TypeDescriptionUsed For
LogoBrand logos and marksForm header logos
BackgroundFull-size imagesForm backgrounds
Open GraphSocial sharing imagesLink previews
FaviconSmall iconsBrowser tabs
OtherGeneral purposeVarious uses

When you upload an asset through a specific feature (like the logo uploader), it’s automatically categorized appropriately. You can also manually categorize assets in the asset library.

The asset library displays all your uploaded files with:

  • Thumbnail preview
  • File name
  • File type
  • Upload date
  • Asset type/category

Keep your asset library organized with descriptive names:

  1. Find the asset you want to rename

  2. Click the Rename option (or edit icon)

  3. Enter a new name

  4. Save your changes

Remove assets you no longer need:

  1. Find the asset you want to delete

  2. Click the Delete option (or trash icon)

  3. Confirm the deletion

Asset storage limits depend on your Fomr plan:

PlanStorage Limit
Free100 MB
Pro10 GB

View your current storage usage:

  1. Go to Assets in your dashboard

  2. Check the storage indicator showing used/available space

To make the most of your storage:

Compress images before uploading. Use tools like TinyPNG or Squoosh to reduce file sizes without losing quality.

Use appropriate formats. Choose JPG for photos, PNG for graphics with transparency, and WebP for the best compression.

Remove unused assets. Regularly clean up assets you no longer need.

Use Unsplash for backgrounds. Instead of uploading large background images, use Unsplash integration.

Asset management lets you reuse images across multiple forms:

  • Upload your logo once, use it in all forms
  • Create a library of brand-approved images
  • Maintain consistency across your forms

When selecting an image in any form, you can choose from your existing asset library rather than uploading the same file multiple times.

Organize from the start. Use clear, descriptive names when uploading assets.

Maintain brand consistency. Keep approved logos and brand images in your library for easy access.

Optimize file sizes. Smaller files load faster, improving the experience for form respondents.

Use appropriate dimensions. Upload images at the size they’ll be displayed to avoid unnecessary file sizes.

Regular cleanup. Periodically review and remove assets you no longer use.

Back up important assets. Keep copies of critical brand assets outside of Fomr as well.

  • Check that the file type is supported
  • Verify the file isn’t corrupted
  • Ensure you have available storage space
  • Try a smaller file size
  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify the asset wasn’t deleted
  • Check that the form is using the correct asset
  • Clear your browser cache and refresh
  • Try re-selecting the asset in the form editor
  • Delete unused assets to free up space
  • Compress existing images to reduce their size
  • Consider upgrading to Pro for more storage
  • Use Unsplash images instead of uploading large files
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try different search terms
  • Refresh the page and try again
  • Contact support if the issue persists
